This project is an eight page magazine insert for the Guardian newspaper containing an editorial piece about the "favorite olympic moments" of the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics 2016. A set of four infographics that I have designed accompany the editorial piece. One is about which countries have hosted the Summer and Winter Olympics since 1896 and another one is about the bidding history since 1998. The other half of the infographics share information surrounding the cost, profit and loss of the games.

I am openly questioning whether it is a worthwhile venture to host the Olympic Games. In terms of improving global perception of a city's brand, do the benefits outweigh the costs? The dark background colour is inspired by the fact that everything may not always be as it seems as many of the hosting cities have made a financial loss. The financial loss influenced the red colour used throughout the infographics in terms of "writing red numbers"
